The Ecology Centre in Carshalton is the perfect place to find out about wildlife habitats, alternative energy, recycling organic and wildlife gardening and composting. Wilderness Island Local Nature Reserve
Wilderness Island is a 4.5 hectare statutory Local Nature Reserve found between the two arms of the River Wandle and the Carshalton-Hackbridge railway line. There are meadows, lilac flowers in spring, grey wagtails, bats, rare moths and several species of butterfly - amongst a plethora of other habitats. Address Mill Lane, Carshalton
Beacon Ramblers
If you fancy getting out into the wilds of the country for a bit of fresh air and some stomping about, get in touch with the Beacon Ramblers. The group is organised to bring together individuals who are interested in walking and the local countryside.
